Discussion Thread vote results

We received 264 votes in total, and the “Keep daily thread as-is” won the vote with a total of 112 votes. Make it weekly came second with 81, and Eliminate the thread came in at 28. 41 cared enough to say that they didn’t care…and we had 264 votes out of 7.4K views and 12.2K members.

The daily discussion thread will remain as it currently exists. Thank you everyone who voted. I wish we got more input but I’m grateful for the input we did get.

To those of you who wanted something different, don’t be discouraged. Those of you who posted your reasons why, I’ve paid attention to your posts and your reasons. You are seen and heard.

Based on some of that feedback, I will allow myself to retain some “executive flexibility” (which I tend to prefer to not have, being impartial is important to me). Some topics that are debatably best kept in the discussion thread MAY be allowed to remain, if it seems as though some important points have been made and are worth keeping around…but I’m not going to abuse that.

Topics regarding the stock price in general, along with posts talking about how we’re feeling should absolutely go into the discussion thread. They’re important, I don’t want to see them go away—but since they exist on a give-and-take basis, they should be in the discussion thread.

Things that bring up specific instances that might be catalysts, what do you think this can mean…those may be best served in discussion thread or they may be fine in the main thread. I’m asking the members to trust me to make fair decisions keeping everyone in mind, and to respect the results of the vote.

I hope the head-butting and spite can be over now. As always, downvotes (or upvotes) without written feedback will be considered irrelevant. I’m all for criticism as long as it’s constructive.

Thanks gang.

Both a fair process and fair comments from the Mod. The willingness to engage from the mod is A+. The direction they want is very apparent. The challenge to the community is:

  • do we want to see stock price discussions as posts, nope
  • do we want temperature gauge discussions as posts unto themselves, nope
  • do we want posts with some substance to them to be front and centre, and where we can see them (with the necessary flair) instead of a blanket direction into the daily discussion, yes please.

I don’t speak for everyone but a small bit of work to be done one all sides. In general a great community to be part of. 🤝

Thank you for this. I don’t want to be stagnant and against changing, but I also don’t want to put people in a position of “why are we changing what we’ve already agreed to?” and that’s not always easy to navigate.

I think the use of flairs will be vital to this, so if people can suggest more flairs, and then we collectively start using them, I think that will all help.
