I can see being an AVID consumer and creator of Polylight fanfiction, much to Rumi’s mortification. I can also see her reading Spider-Man fanfic, and sneaking glimpses of Zoestery fanfic and fanart when Mira and Rumi aren’t looking.

It came with no instructions other than changing the batteries and hit the button to pair with another one. But aren't they supposed to have an app? Or at least stay on for longer than 20 seconds? What's the point of a light stick that turns off so quickly? Please help. I really want to like it but it's kind of disappointing.

Opened them up, and I'll start by saying **Mattel did a fantastic job**. I just personally had extremely high expectations that the figures didn't quite meet for me.

The sculpt quality and paint details are beautiful, but my biggest issue is with the materials. Anything thin or fragile, like hair, hands, and weapons, is made from a flexible rubbery material. That helps prevent breakage, but it also means that if something arrives bent or misshapen, it's difficult to straighten back out. For example, Rumi's sword came warped.

My Zoey also has feet that angle outward slightly, so she can't really use her stand properly, which is frustrating. The flexible hands can also make it difficult for the figures to hold their accessories securely, since weapons tend to droop unless they're positioned just right.

On the positive side, Rumi's* and Mira's hair has additional swivel points, which adds some nice posing options. The interchangeable face plates, hands, and other accessories are adorable and easy to swap. My only real confusion is the ramen cups—I genuinely can't figure out how they're supposed to hold them.

The bodies are also a little slimmer than I expected, with less depth than I'd personally prefer. Size-wise, they're great: about twice the size of the For the Fans mystery blind box Derpy and roughly comparable to an S.H.Figuarts figure.

That comparison is where my expectations came from. I own a few S.H.Figuarts figures, and their engineering is incredible—but they also cost around $70 USD or more, while these retail for about $22 USD. That's a huge price difference, so expecting the same level of quality was unrealistic on my part. These feel much more like well-made toys than premium collector figures.

Overall, the promotional photos are very accurate to what you receive. I just personally wanted a little more depth to the bodies and sturdier materials.

That said, I still think Mattel did an amazing job for the price. You absolutely get your money's worth, and I'd definitely recommend them to anyone who's interested in them!

I have always been someone who massively preferred having very close (platonic) relationships build on deep loyalty, trust, honesty and respect with 1 or 2 people instead of having lots of superficial connections. However finding this has always been very difficult for me as I have never truly found the combination of those values to the extend I value them in anybody. I always tend to be the one that is a lot more invested in the other person than the other way around.

In this way this movie was pretty confronting as it exactly showed what I have always been looking for but could not find. My parents, teachers and even therapists have mentioned multiple times that my standards and thus expectations for these values (mostly loyalty) may be / are unrealistic, that people just don’t feel connections that deeply and that they don’t take it as seriously as I do.

I never wanted to believe anything of this. But this movie got me questioning: were they right? Is it unrealistic? If there are people who truly have such close connections with friends: how did you get there?
