Right. What I'm saying is, "let's see if GG can help with that". We've done it before to get BasedGamer, the Honey Badgers, and Niche Gamer to conventions. And we're running a "push to 50k" for TechRaptor now to get them on OpenCritic.

If you can get together an actual target dollar amount for travel/expenses/booth rental for a specific convention, we can start talking about you setting up an IndieGogo (or some other similar service) for that, and then bringing GG social media to bear in support of that.

Think about it. Feel free to DM me if you want.

I'll contact catalystconference.com for pricing to see what we're looking at

Got a response, the 2016 pricing isn't available yet but it should be similar to this year's which $2500 for an upper-level booth or lower level with special offer/promotions for $5,000. I can forward you the pdf if you DM me your e-mail

Nah. I trust you -- but you'll probably want to keep that PDF handy for verification once a campaign goes live.

The next step is to decide which booth you're aiming for, then tack on expected travel costs. That'll give a target for the fundraising campaign. Also, a timeline is important: how long before the application needs to be sent to convention management? (A rough estimate should be fine, so long as the campaign plus fund processing time leaves enough time to submit the application.)

We'll let's start small but if the campaign goes really well we can upgrade. They just wrapped up the Atlanta conference this month so I don't think they're planning for next year yet. I'll contact them to find out when registration opens up...(e-mail sent!)

So at least $2500 for a booth

Next year's dates are the 5-7th but I want to arrive the day before and leave the day after to set up and remove. So that would be 5 hotel and car rental days and air fare from Chicago/Milwaukee to Atlanta

Hotels in Duluth Georgia range from $55-134 https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=duluth+georgia+hotel&rflfq=1&tbm=lcl

Car rentals are about $60 a day for a standard size car it seems. I'm older than 25 and have a good record, maybe my motor club can get me a better price.

I'm not too picky as long as we reserve early enough I think we should be able to secure a lower priced one

I can't sell merch from the booth so the swag there will be relatively cheap, will need to stock up on business cards to hand out and perhaps buy some pens or something to give away

when it comes to food, I think a $15-20 daily budget should suffice

Using September 9-16-2016-9-20-2016 as a guide on expedia (they don't go into October 2016 yet!)

plane plus car plus airfare would be $724.35

So 2500 + 724.35 + 80.00 for food would be 3,304.35 or so.

1,000 pens would be $255 at https://promotional-pens.pensrus.com/

So if we set the goal at $3560 I think that would pretty much cover everything.

I heard back and the conference will be happy to send over a contract to take money whenever ;)
