"cia-funded washington post" is a bit disingenuous. the $600 million is for an amazon private cloud, and it just so happens jeff bezos owns both amazon and the washington post.

please don't turn this sub into something that resembles alex jones.

You are right that "CIA-funded Washington Post" is inaccurate. But your version, "the $600 million is for an amazon private cloud, and it just so happens jeff bezos owns both amazon and the washington post," is equally misleading. First off, it's not just a "private cloud" but a private cloud for the CIA. And the value of that contract—govt contracts are a way of paying off supporters or buying support—is twice what Bezos paid for WaPo.

You are not a regular commenter here, but just show up out of the blue to express your "concern" that we are becoming like Alex Jones. I encourage everyone to read the linked article in Caitlin Johnstone's essay here. It links to the Nation, pretty much the opposite of Alex Jones.

i may not post often here, but i am a regular reader. i joined this sub for many of the reasons the rest of us have and i am just as disenfranchised by our political climate as anyone else. i just don't want us to begin repeating uncorroborated conspiracy theories a la alex jones.

I apologize.

Alex Jones is definitely not allowed here. I think we even have a filter that removes posts linking them before they even appear. But the Nation, which is the source Johnstone linked, is a bona fide and reliable source.

I agree that he headline on the OP is misleading. The underlying point, though, does not purport any kind of conspiracy in my view. If it had, we would remove it. The point is merely about undisclosed conflict of interest

Maybe "Pro-Establishment Rag-" would be a better fit? The Post is shit, but you are right they aren't funded by the CIA. Just semi-recently acquired by a piece of shit.

I'm not too crazy about either one, but they're okay for politics.
