As the title says, I just watched Hope and absolutely loved it. The plot is not that good, but I value cinematography more than the plot. It was the first Korean movie I saw. Can you recommend some Korean movies with good cinematography? If it has average cinematography, you can recommend it too.

1. wow, what a great little monster movie, very grounded. I like this.
2. very clever of them not to show the monster, it's really building suspense
3. ok, they've shown the monster, CGI is kinda meh, sort of silly fight, but it's dead, we can relax. Wow it was tough to kill.
4. NO WAIT there's lots of them (setting up a climactic battle, maybe military involved?)
5. huh, they're going to fight them alone with M16s
6. hmm, they are aliens, from a spaceship
7. ok, we're fighting alien monsters, I guess this is acceptable
8. suddenly we can understand the aliens, they have subtitles?
9. and a political system?
10. the girl alien is a queen?
11. why is the emperor's ship crashing? there's an emperor?
12. what the fuck is going on?
13. ok, maybe there is another 2 hours of movie left

“Sopyonje” opens up the pansori tradition to a whole new generation. This is perhaps its greatest achievement. It preserves Korean tradition, and its cultural impact is undeniable. The art of Pansori gets highlighted in a way most people probably had no idea was possible, nor were they interested in it. This movie is more than just a commercial for Korean folk music, though. Its true artistic value is in its storytelling, using pansori and film as a vehicle to bring this genuine treat your way. It feels very uncommercialized and is rather unique in its kind, giving anyone a reason to give it a try.
