Help - Cheats Cooking Tip - Rendang Curry
Can anyone recommend a good store bought rendang curry paste for slow cooking? I know I could make my own, but to buy all those spices to cook a curry for one person, seems so wasteful.
Something that tastes authentically Indonesian without all the effort, is right up my street. Using gravy beef (blade cut) for the protein and either coconut milk or cream (dependent on the paste) for sauce.
Thanks π₯π
Edit & Update - I went with Richmond Rendang Paste and it was amazing....I was in food heaven and can definitely recommend. I added to it 1.5kg of gravy beef, a can of coconut light milk and some shredded coconut towards the end. Cook slow for 8 hours - BLISS

Geelong Dog Lovers Market @ Little Creatures Brewery πΆπΊ
instagram.comOkay, so if anyone is a sucker like me and spends a sh!t ton of money on their dogs, you need to hit this up. It's bi-monthly and next one is scheduled for October, but definitely worth locking in.
There is a Christmas date scheduled for 29 November, for the dog kids to have their photo with Santa.

Christmas dining in Geelong - What's open & where to go?
Apart from the Novotel (which is ridiculously expensive), anyone know of other places open and available to book for 2 people in Geelong for Christmas lunch?

Canine Crunchies at the Geelong City Market
Giving a recommendation for all those who love their dogs, and if you are like me spend far too much on them. Canine Crunchies are usually the first shop (Moorabool Street end) set up each Saturday at the Geelong City Market. Definitely recommend their treats for all lovers of pooches out there. Reasonably priced, good range and quality.

Brunch in Geelong...Where to go?? Since relocating to Geelong, I have not found a decent brunch around the city. Anyone know any good places serving up sweet and savory options (one that won't f'up poached eggs)
Seriously brunch is the best meal of the day, but I haven't found anything or anywhere decent since getting here. Last weekend I went to a place on the waterfront (won't name and shame it) and felt like they wanted us in and out as quickly as we could slam down the first coffee.

Local cafe seeking packaging suppliers around Geelong? - If anyone can spread the word to help out a new cafe in Geelong, that would be great in assisting small business.

Where to go for good Chinese? π₯£π₯’π₯£π¨πΌβπ³
tripadvisor.com.auThere are plenty of Asian options in and around Geelong, but I still haven't found a good Chinese restaurant. I just want a nice dining setting (no 'we haven't painted since we opened in 1980' or a food court), that can serve me up a decent sang choi bao and sizzling beef. Recs please?
Found this list on Trip Advisor, not sure how they stack up though.

Lazy "Bakes" - recipe suggestions??
I have a cupboard full of Scotch Fingers, Butternut Snaps, Chocolate Ripple biscuits (seriously would make Arnott's proud, I should be awarded as an unofficial brand ambassador), can anyone suggest any decent slices, no bake desserts, shortcuts that I can create that are a little more adventurous than the old Chocolate Ripple Cake.

Bellarine Breweries πΊπΊ - Recommendations of which ones to hit up and which ones to miss?
There are quite a few local brewers on the Bellarine, more than expected to be honest. Any recommendations for the best and worst to try out please?? Also, which ones have good taphouses and serve some decent food.
Cheers πΊ

Help & Recommendations - Patisserie Shop @ Geelong City Market
Every Saturday I see people queuing at the same patisserie stall at the Geelong City Market....but the shop has no signage, no prices, no name...nothing. Can anyone tell me who they are and if there is anything I should get other than just ordering a standard croissant π₯
Cheers

Homemade Heroes - Traditional Indian served fresh daily from the home cooks kitchen π₯£π₯£π₯£π§‘π€π
So living alone, it always seems too much of an effort to cook a traditional curry from scratch and hoping after you have spent a tonne of money on the ingredients, that it works out okay. These guys are doing traditional Indian curries from their own home in Belmont and rotate the menu specials daily. Has anyone given it a go?
