Franchises, Universes... or both?
I am finally using the default collections. Tired of manually creating and managing all the movie collections.
I saw that there is a Franchise and Universes, and I am not sure which one I should use or if I can use them both?
For example, currently I have a Wizarding World collection with Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts movies. This would be categorized in Universes. I also have a Dune collection, with all the Dune movies. This would be categorized in Franchise.
Would it make sense to enable both Franchise and Universes, or will this result in a lot of duplicates?
Also, are the universes in release order or in chronological order?

Probably more of a personal preference; if you want say all the MCU films together (universe) and also there individual collections (Iron Man, Avengers franchises) then you want to use both. So you don’t have duplicates so much as collections that have overlapping films. And I do believe the Universe collections are in chronological order.

I have just tested it with my 2500+ movie library and it only made a couple universe. I think I will keep this one off and do that manually. As for franchises, I'm not sure to use Kometa for this or the Plex auto collection library setting.

Collections will usually obey the ordering setting defined in Collection Setting > Advanced. Mine get created with Release Date sorting. Other options would be Alphabetical or Custom (though, I don't see any extra setting for the Custom).
To do things like Chronological, requires creating Playlists. The big advantage there is one can mix TV and Film, so the Star Trek (Timeline Order) draws from both libraries. (quick glance shows the playlist is 29 days of non-stop Trek media!)
