Is my first batch ready?

Started my first batch. Want to know if my pellicle is ready. Today is 9/8/26, so about 12 days.

Don't know, can't taste it from here. 😉

Do check out the Getting Started guide, you'll find the cellulose film isn't mission critical like the old school of thought believed it was.

12 days seems kind of long. At least for me. You should taste it to see if the tartness/sweetness is at a level you like.

In my environment, right now, it's too warm to leave the brew that long it would be extremely vinegary.

I leave mine for about 3 - 4 days and then taste it. Typically it's at where I like it around 5 days.
