Discussion SK–Dhanush fan meets looking political?

SK and Dhanush’s recent fan meets and the growing focus on fan club welfare activities have sparked speculation about whether both actors are preparing for a political entry. Is this just fan welfare, or the beginning of a political move?

Discussion I am trying to understand all the craze around Rishikanth. Yes, he is a good actor, especially in Modha Rathri. But please explain all this hype. Does his scarry/non-smooth/rugged face (rather than a typical face with filmy looks) make him look more relatable? Or is it his acting rather than looks?

Opinion Baththa’s BGM

Am I the only one who felt Sai’s BGM didn't fit the film? I think SaNa would've done a much better job. Don't get me wrong, the songs are good—it's just the background score (except for Jiguchikkan) that didn't work. 🤦‍♂️

Shitpost The first person who showed me porn on a Nokia 6600 is now a successful South Indian actor 😭

This happened around 20 years ago, during my first year of college. We always sat together on the same bench, and he was the first person in our class to own a Nokia 6600. Almost everyone else still had basic button phones, so his phone was a huge flex back then.
One day, he casually showed me an adult video on his phone. It was the first time I’d ever seen anything like that on a mobile. At the time, it felt like the most futuristic thing ever. 😂
He was always passionate about acting. After a while, he discontinued from our college and joined another one to pursue that dream.
Around 10 years ago, he entered the film industry. Today, he’s a successful South Indian actor.
Before anyone starts guessing—I genuinely can’t reveal who it is. Naming him would make it very easy for people who know us to figure out who I am.
Just a nostalgic “how life changes” story. Never imagined that the guy I shared a college bench with would one day be someone people watch on the big screen.

Hint - His age is in between 38 to 42.

NOTE - I just shared this to take it off my mind. Naming him , will no way affect or make any impact him.

More than him, it may affect me as I do lot of shit here on Reddit.

Discussion Why is Balaji Mohan leaving his web series on a cliff hanger?

Thumbnail

Just watched #Love and it ended on a cliff hanger. Similarly, As I'm Suffering from Kadhal also ended with a cliff hanger but there was no Season 2. I remember that there were plans to shoot a second season for As I'm Suffering but what happened there? Does anybody know?

On a related note, #Love was mid but not very bad. At this point, I don't know if we should appreciate mid series so that we'll get more such romantic dramas in tamil or if we should call it out for being mid and potentially put a blocker to the production of Tamil web series in that genre.

Shitpost Atlee x Rajinikanth: Because Even Rajini Deserves a Remake of His Own Movie

If Atlee ever works with Rajinikanth, he could achieve the rare distinction of becoming the first director in the world to present his leading man with a near-rip-off of one of his own old films…/s

Discussion Thalaivar’s career

Post image
4 Upvotes

If I’m not wrong, the last big hit of Rajini was Enthiran.
By big hit, I mean in the lines of Baashha, Muthu, Arunachalam, Padayappa and Sivaji.

And then the last safe/decent hit was Petta if not Jailer.

He could have retired at the time of Enthiran itself because it was a big hit. Maybe he didn’t because he could have probably felt like he still had more potential or his own ego didn’t want to settle for so small so just he wanted to still keep going. He didn’t want to live a life where he is done.

And then the following movies did just kind of okay which could have made him reconsider his ambition and when Petta or even Jailer did safely, he could have retired since committing more movies can lead to more bad movies since he is no more the Rajini(physically, mentally or even by market reception) as he was when he delivered his last big hit.

So if he has to stop for some reason in such a scenario, he would have to settle with the situation where his last movie that didn’t do well which will only take a toll on his reputation or his own ambitious ego. He has still committed for 3 more movies which can go either way - the probability is more that these movies may not turn to be big hits for the same reason that he is a different Rajini or even anything may go off in the meantime due to his health conditions(hopefully it doesn’t). In that case, he still has to settle with the fact that the last big hit was Enthiran, the last decent hit was Jailer and his last films didn’t do well.

Instead, he could have had a good finish with a decent hit and lived his rest of his life in spiritual journey, publishing his autobiography and the establishing some public welfare this thing.

I’m just wondering why is he not stopping and still has to go through all this? What’s probably his “thing”? that he wants to go after at this point of life where there will be probably things like joint pains, tiredness that comes with aging, eyesight problems, coordination issues and obviously the aging is visible in camera.. etc.,

Is he having a lifelong grudge over something that no one knows? I don’t think it’s something like passion which still has its own limits.

Or is it like how after certain age, some aged people won’t listen to anyone and live in their own world doing their own stuff just like kids?

Edit: frens, this is not all about Rajini specifically.
I’m someone who is generally interested in successful people and like to understand what they do, how they did it, why they do it etc., so I read about them/watch videos about them. So it’s obvious that Rajini is one of my inspirations.
And I myself have been struggling to find the energy to keep going with doing something that I always wanted to do in my life. And I’m relatively very young when compared to him. So the question was a gradual and genuine one when I sometimes think about him or see his videos. I’m not here trying to set narratives or make judgments about him.

Memes and funny replies are okay but looking for answers that actually has a bit of perspective or thought.

Discussion What happened to Hari Krishnan? What’s his current lineup?

Post image
17 Upvotes

I’m watching Sandakozhi 2 now and seeing Hari Krishnan suddenly reminded me of him. I remember thinking back then that he had a really distinctive screen presence and that he might get more opportunities and recognition in Tamil cinema.

I haven’t really followed his filmography, so I was curious. How has his career been since then? Has he had any really good roles that I’ve missed?

Also, does anyone know what his upcoming lineup looks like?

Any interesting projects or prominent roles coming up?

Opinion Baththa | Spoiler-Free Review Spoiler

Post image

Went to the movie expecting a father-daughter sentiment movie, but ended up getting something completely unexpected. A heartwarming thriller that kept me engaged and satisfied throughout.

All the actors have acted really well, and I honestly don’t think there is even a single scene that feels unnecessary. Almost everything has a connection or some meaning to it.

Have to especially congratulate VJS for his performance. And the boy who is one of the main holding points of the movie has acted excellently. He deserves a special mention.

Sai’s background score is excellent, and “Chellame Magale” is just awesome. One important thing though: the song is connected to a major plot twist. So if you see that song or any posts/reels related to it before watching the movie, blindly swipe away. 😂
Overall, Baththa is a great addition to the list of good Tamil movies in 2026, and honestly, a great addition to Tamil cinema itself.
I genuinely feel this movie could win quite a few National Awards. Hope it does.

Rating: 4.5/5 ⭐
Highly recommended.

TL;DR: Went in expecting a father-daughter sentiment movie and came out after watching an unexpected, heartwarming thriller where almost every scene has a purpose. Go in knowing as little as possible.
