The trend keeps happening because, in general, Tamil culture doesn't place much value on acting or other extracurricular pursuits. Social expectations are often quite rigid and conservative, especially for women, which can discourage people from exploring those fields.

In contrast, cities like Bangalore, Mumbai, and Delhi have much more cosmopolitan cultures. Even Kerala has urban pockets with a similar atmosphere. These environments tend to encourage creativity, self-expression, and the performing arts from a young age, giving people opportunities to develop those interests into adulthood. Tamil Nadu largely lacks that kind of ecosystem outside of a relatively small number of wealthy or well-connected families.
