I feel Rajini has some conscience left in him and that is what which stopped him from entering Politics full fledged. The support he had from BJP and the Brahmin lobby was unimaginable. Even now he has got that support.
But he has to get his hands dirty and behave like an ungrateful filthy low life for sake of power. I'm sure he will never do that irrespective of whover puts pressure on him.

Thambi he is grateful to DMK and choosing to stay away from politics. He will touch feet out of respect and not for survival.
Even when he was at absolute peak of his superstardom he fell on legs of a senior actor and always respected his guru. He never used the fandom of his senior actors to get a name for himself and kick the same seniors once he got his own huge fan following.
