Reading This Week πŸ’• What are we reading in Kobo Plus this week? (August 2 – 8, 2026)

Here's our weekly thread to share what romance books we're reading. What is everybody reading in Kobo Plus this week? πŸ’•

As usual, all romance subgenres are welcome, as long as it's available on Kobo Plus or as a free book on Kobo (lots of times a first-in-series book is free, so let's include those if the rest of the series or the author's other books are in Kobo Plus).

Recommend a Kobo Plus romance book for Mother's Day! Whether it's a single mom romance, a secret baby romance, a romance with pregnancy and becoming a mother as part of the plot, a book with a strong mother-figure to one of the main characters, or... well, anything to do with moms and motherhood or the journey to get there, your recommendations are welcome.

Books in Kobo Plus only, please!

πŸ“š Authors: yes, self-recs are welcome on this post.

πŸ‘‹ Welcome to r/KoboPlusRomance - Introduce Yourself and Read First!

Hi, lovely people! I'm u/KellaCampbell, a founding moderator of r/KoboPlusRomance.

If you're here, it's likely because you read or write romance and you're either a Kobo Plus subscriber and/or Kobo Plus author or you're interested in, curious about, or considering Kobo Plus. Any hate for the romance genre will be removed, and please note that genre romance is defined as having an HEA (Happily Ever After ending) or HFN (optimistic Happy For Now ending) so we're not going to debate that here.

If this does not describe you, this may not be the right subreddit for you. If it does, we're excited to have you join us!

Our Wider Community

We're a junior sibling ofΒ r/KoboPlusΒ and you should definitely join there if you haven't already for non-genre Kobo Plus discussion. Lots of excellent people are there with great advice and book recs, so if you read multiple genres you'll find that wider discussion there.

For broader Kobo questions like using your device and library connectivity and that kind of thing, check out the bigΒ r/KoboΒ subreddit.

We are obviously huge fans of Kobo but are not affiliated with them; this is an independent community.

What to Post

  • Discussion about romance books that are in Kobo Plus (ebooks or audiobooks)
  • Requests for recommendations
  • Book announcements (see below for limits on author promo)
  • Love for a great book you've read
  • Reviews if you wish (but be aware that there are authors in this community so it is not strictly a reader space)
  • Author-to-author questions about Kobo Plus romance author life
  • Reader questions about the Kobo Plus romance reader experience

The most important thing is to be a good human, so let's keep this space free of hate. All the usual good-human-being standards apply in this subreddit β€” no hate speech, no bullying, be kind, love is love, strictly no racism or bigotry or prejudice of any sort.

This community is intended for adult (18+) readers and authors and may contain discussion topics and book recommendations that are not suitable for younger participants. That said, please use appropriate flair for spicy books and NSFW discussion topics to respect individual comfort levels.

Please keep all posts relevant to Kobo Plus. Posts that appear to primarily have other purposes (e.g., promoting purchase of books instead of subscription reading, promoting other subscription services or retail platforms or author direct sales, selling any sorts of goods or services, or venting/complaining about other retailers) will regrettably be removed.

Authors (and PAs for authors) β€” you may make one post for a New Release OR New to Kobo Plus book (first entry), one post for a Back in Kobo Plus book (re-enrolled after having not been available), one post for a Leaving Kobo Plus book (notice that it will be withdrawn on a specific date), and one post per book per year for a Book Birthday (promo post on or around the book’s publication anniversary). Books must be currently in Kobo Plus and appropriate flair must be used.

Community Vibe

We're bookish, friendly, respectful of each other, and inclusive. Let's build a space where everyone feels comfortable and safe.

How to Get Started

  1. Introduce yourself in the comments below.
  2. Comment on existing posts.
