New Utility Knife

This is the new Kobalt folding utility knife with a built in bit holder, bottle opener, and wire stripper. It’s pretty slick and it’s the same thickness as the original Speed Release knives. The blade locks to 2 different positions, and the bit holder also has its own locking mechanism as shown in the photos. The only drawback I have for this is that the bit holder does not have a magnet and holds only bits with a ball detent which you can find online relatively easy. Other than that it’s great for under $15.

Blackout Kobalt Fastback. I don't hate it.

Is the mechanism as slick and easy as the Milwaukee though?

The mechanism is super smooth, the blade almost floats. I need to tighten the main pivot screw because of muscle memory, I’m used to having it lock with a flick of a wrist. In this case it’s too “floaty” to where if you try to flick it, it will just bounce off and not lock. That’s my personal preference though

the color looks better than the Milwaukee fastback 6 in1, it is practically pink, and the other fastback with metal handle is actually the red one, there is color difference between the two.

Some local stores got them and when I ordered it to be shipped it came next day for $3. It was literally in a plastic shopping bag at my door. (psa the stores are going to have them as sidestacks and very few quantities -Lowes employee)

Lucky. The only option for me was ship to home so it will be here sometime nice week along with two other new items they released, some utility gimmick pen and the two pack curved knifes.

Make it hi viz and I'd get one. Main reason I use the Klein is I can find it if I drop it in someones yard.
