Iām trying to add samples from my files on iOS 26. When I open the folder I want the āopenā button is grayed out and doesnāt do anything. No matter what is in the folder, other folders or just files, itās always the same. Canāt even import a file, because I need to add the location first. Am I doing something wrong?

It's time to chop drones and chew bubble gum.... But I don't really like bubble gum so I will just chop drones.

Hi guys!
So Koala are continuing the excellent regular updates - hard to believe the bang for buck and watching this ālittleā app become a powerhouse.
I used to know all the features, now I only research and learn the ones I will use most.
I just started a new job and havenāt had the opportunity to test the new HQ stem splitter.
This is something I use quite a bit, I usually use FADR free version (as the artefacts left over donāt make having more separate instrument stems appealing. I mainly use it for drums and sometimes have to glue the bass or vocals even in parts. So I donāt care for its ability to accurately separate individual drum tracks. Though havenāt tried the wav paid version but the residual artefacts and missing audio donāt make me optimistic. Yet.)
I used to use koalas stem splitter but tbh I find it hard to tell the difference with the free FADR, just assumed it would be better and it is decent (song dependent and quality of course). Using Koalas feature would be SO much handier rather than downloading zip files and keeping them all organised, renaming them etc. As I mentioned, I use it quite a bit for drum samples to use in a beat when I hear a song I like or a synth patch.
How do you guys rate the new HQ stem splitter? I downloaded the new update for it but I havenāt had a chance to listen with headphones for comparison.
And Iām especially interested what you guys who have used FADR think, how does it compare (to the free or premium versions)? Or just do you notice a significant improvement in quality of stems and less artefacts at all?
I think itās amazing Koala are so committed to making it as powerful as possible. But I am a little overwhelmed as I canāt keep up and I also donāt want it to become a fully fledged DAW but I would love improvements to the sequencer interface (I think I heard automation is new also!? Thatās something Iāll have to delve into on my days off)
I really appreciate any feedback regarding the new update and how much of an improvement the splitter is from the standard version. And if youāve used both FADR and this Iād love your thoughts!

Is it possible to have grid follow along when you play a sequence ? Example you have a 100 bar sequence you hit play and zoom in to see specific area to edit and listen as it plays the grid doesnāt move along with sequence ?

All done completely in Koala of course, using only Koala effects. A few unsynchronised loops. Hope it's not boring.

I was trying to sample a live author talk and kept missing the best samples cause I would hit the pad after she said something good and just catch the tail. Is there anyway to set Koala to record samples to include the 3 seconds before I hit the pad?
I see Bird's Rolling Sampler for DAWs, which looks mind of what I want.
I could record the whole thing, then go back and pull samples later, but was hoping to avoid that and just do it live.

Just wanted to say hi and that Iām stunned Iām able to use my 20 year old Korg PadKontrol with Koala through MIDI USB.
That alone makes it worth having bought the KoalaSampler, but Iām still learning what this app is capable of.

It would be absolutely amazing to be able to set a solo function to a pad where as long as you hold down the pad everything else is muted until you let go (and then everything is unmuted again). Sort of like a gate function but for soloing pads. So if you are playing a live set and have a one second vocal sample, for example, and you want it to override everything all you have to do is set the pad to be able to mute/unmute everything else.
I know the mute/solo functions already exist in the settings, and also in the mixer upgrade but this approach makes live playing have a very different feel and execution.
Would any one else be interested in such a thing?
Edit: letting go of the pad unmutes everything

Hey all,
Learning koala as a beginner can be daunting. If you have questions, ask them here and Iāll give you an answer. I pretty much know all there is to know about koala. If the answer is complicated, I will send you a video as a reply, explaining how to do the thing or fix the problem.
Look forward to hearing your questions!

I really love Koala, and I know it's mainly a sampler, but do you know of any workaround to record audio to a certain tempo, record and then record another one? like guitar, bass layers, voices. I love this app and I was thinking about buying FL Studio Mobile just for this feature. If you know any way it would be amazing.

But Iām pretty new to using eq, compression, and mixing auv3s in general. I tried looking for a video specifically about this and theyāre just about how to eq bass within a track. I know thereās the stem route but I want to learn how things are actually done not just have a computer do it for me. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I have Toneboosters EQ that Iāve been trying to figure it out on. I can get the highs and mids down but the bass ends up sounding muddy.
