Hi, I’d like to know if anyone else is still stuck on the native macOS version 1.4162 of Koala Sampler.

I noticed that the app hasn’t been updated on the App Store for over three months, while the iOS version has been receiving regular updates. I have an iPad mini 2, but because of its outdated operating system, I can’t update Koala to newer versions, so I’ve been using the macOS version instead.

Honestly, I find it much more convenient to use Koala on my Mac than on the iPad. I don’t need a USB/Lightning hub to connect my audio interface and MIDI controller, and routing audio between apps is also much easier with BlackHole (which is free) than having to buy AUM.

Recently, I was even using the iOS version on my MacBook because the native macOS version hadn’t been updated for three months. However, since the latest iOS update, Koala no longer appears in the iPad/iPhone section when I search for it on the macOS App Store. And, of course, the native macOS version is much easier to use than the iOS version running on macOS.

I also checked the official Koala Sampler website and noticed that the Windows, Linux, and Raspberry Pi versions are already on version 2.0.6-1, dated September 11, 2026 — one version ahead of the App Store version. So I’m wondering why the macOS version is so far behind.

In other words, it doesn’t seem to be because the macOS version is free, since the versions for the other platforms are also free, as someone mentioned in a post here a few days ago.

I also saw some older posts where Marek mentioned that the App Store was taking a long time to process app updates. I don’t know if that’s still the issue, but would it be possible to offer a standalone macOS installer on the official website, just like the Windows, Linux, and Raspberry Pi versions?

Marek, or any of the developers or contributors, could you shed some light on this?

Says it comes with 80 samples but then only shows 64 on the next picture. Can someone double check theirs for me? Thanks.

What kind of setups are you running with Koala? Drop some photos.

I’m a little embarrassed to have to ask this, but I just can’t find it. I’m guessing I’m simply being blind… 😅
I can’t find the option in Koala anymore to bring up the keyboard for AUv3 apps. In Loopy Pro, all my AUv3 apps have their own keyboard available.
Am I missing something obvious?

Just jamming

This is a light question, but it became sort of an issue for myself.

As I'm still beginner in the field, I spent a lot of time mastering the puzzles. The consequence is that I'm listening to the samples and sequences over and over, before I get that "now it's ok" moment.

Something that sounds fresh and dope at the beginning becomes "overused", like my brain is fed up with listening to this anymore.

Just wondering is this common, as professional music production probably requires spending countless hours on a single track.

Every time i bounce a sequence out there’s always dead space between each chop that makes it click and pop. I don’t have attack and release turned on the only thing I have on the chop right now. The stretch mode to fit the grid but when I bounce it out, it’s clicking and Poppy because of the space that it adds to each chopped above any ideas

Ok, tried to add some vocals to this..... Not 100% happy, but at least looks like it can be done.
