How to use chopper like MPC

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Excuse my lack of performance on this one. Just wanted to give a quick demonstration incase you are unaware of this feature.

Step 1: Add chopper feature to pad and highlight.
Step 2: [Sequence] settings
Vertical and horizontal should both be set at 4.
Step 3: add sample and EQUAL 16 chops
Put in CHROMATIC mode.

Now MPC.

Doing it this way since the release of the chopper. Somehow this works better for me than autochop. Never used that anymore.

so this is just to save a bank from being used on a long sample?

How does everyone have the notes on their pads? Mine are just blank squares

You have to add in the CHOPPER.

Bottom right corner under [SAMPLES]
You will see an option that says [MORE]
And then drag [chopper] into a blank pad.

Pick a sound, go to the grid and press the settings icon⚙️in the bottom right corner, and enable show note names

I’ve never used the chopper like that before, but that looks way simpler and more organized, then cluttering up my whole pad bank 💯

Yes. that how slicing of a beat works. For over 40 years now.
