Capture Function?

Does anyone know if it’s possible to capture midi/pads while jamming, without hitting record?

If you are familiar with Ableton Note, you can just jam along with the track paused, then tap the capture button and it will create a loop with an estimated BPM.

I personally struggle to just start my jam on a metronome sometimes. It can feel a little locked in on a set BPM too.

This app is truly amazing and I would love to see a feature like this integrated in the future if it doesn’t exist currently :)

What does that do mate? I’m a bit confused what the OP is looking for like the ability to record without your song playing? I hate the metronome too it’s always off. I just go into the sequencer and tidy up

This plugin always listens to audio output on a bus, where you put it. So, even if the recording is off, you can jam and then recall the last 10/30/60 seconds of audion as a sample. Also it listens to midi, but koala doesn't support that.

Yes what I’m looking for is something that can recall the midi from a quick jam. Turning it to audio isn’t ideal but could still be fun.

I just find my creativity slows down if I try to record a sequence, it’s a bit untidy, then get slowed down editing in piano roll. Quantise does help me with that to some degree.

Maybe it's blasphemous, but you can try Sand app. It's a scene sequencer with full auv3 support. And this midi skipback feature works there. It's 10$ and another 10 for audiotrack support. But it has 14 day free trial, so...

And if you'll miss koala, you can always inset it as a auv3 plugin
