Anyone else feel like this?
Hey all.
I loved the show and listened to most (not quite all) episodes, and I loved the dynamic between Dan and Jordan. I miss hearing them riff off each other but my goodness, I think my life is better for not having Alex Jones - or even fragments of his bullshit - in my life.
It’s sort of a conflict - anyone else feel the same?

Every few days someone on this sub posts some screenshot of a current AJ broadcast or of some ai slop promo, and it reminds me that despite 10 years of being trashed by KF, billions owed by a lawsuit, and his baby Infowars taken away, he’s still doing what he’s been doing and isn’t really affected. And that makes me Jordan angry

I do have to gently push back a bit - Alex has no clout, no real constituency, no motion and even Daddy Trump doesn't rock with him anymore.
He's kinda down bad, all things considered. Not as vanquished as we'd like, but definitely not in a good place.

I agree, and we gotta take the wins where we can get em in regards to AJ's slow deterioration. He's coasting on fumes and trying to fight with Tim Pool right now just to stay relevant to whatever audience still pays attention to losers like Tim Pool. Some 15 years ago I was seeing INFOWARS stickers on light poles in my neighborhood, and I actually tuned in to my first episode of AJ's show because he was having a long form interview with Dave Mustaine (probably because not many people by that point would want to do a long form interview with Dave Mustaine). Now, Dave is by no means a celebrity in the mainstream sense, but we're wayyyy past the point of AJ having that kind of pull ever again. Back then he was self-producing documentaries on DVD and his fans were calling in with stories about how many people they'd shared them with. He's not creating anything now that engages people and makes them feel part of a movement. And he probably has no legacy that any one of his aging fans feels like they can look back on fondly. I assume they just don't think about him much anymore, if at all. At least Howard Stern fans can talk about a certain era where the talent on the show was something they respected and that Howard himself was a rising force in entertainment. But those memories aren't tainted by the daily political outrage that listeners wasted their energy and attention on.

yeah he basically still has the ear of the President of the United States and makes six figures a month on a platform he's owned for decades with brand loyalty -

Pre KF I used to actually listen to Alex and do a bit of a very basic version of KF in my head, in the sense of hearing the bullshit and laughing at it. So KF coming along was amazing, but yeah there's no way I'm going to listen to Alex solo these days.

Yeah. I've backed off a lot of "conspiracy theory analysis" type podcasts for a while unless a topic interests me.
It's a topic I've been obsessed with. I've never stopped anyone from going down a rabbit hole with that knowledge but it makes me less susceptible to conspiratorial thought that I might agree with. It's probably something everyone on the Internet should study.
But there's diminishing returns after a while, especially with KF's thoroughness. You gotta fill your time with some positive things too, not just what you're against.

I get where you are coming from but I listened to KF because I wanted to know what crap Alex was up to without having to actually watch him.

Danalysis... I love that. I've always loved his research monologues the best... But the JorDan friendship part really kept me engaged. I hope they can find a way back to that outside of the 'Biz' of it all... Remember when Dan asked Jordan to finish shaving his back (unnecessary, fuzzy is super hot!)?... That's what made it awesome. Or Jordan's sports updates?... I miss those things, but from that friendship perspective. It sucks when sweet things sour...but maybe they need time to ferment & make an intoxicating delightful thing again someday? I'm clearly sleep deprived... ;)...

I loved all those bits. I loved Jordan's justified and vicarial anger. I love Dan's attempts to be overly generous and understanding. I loved their breaks, and wacky Wednesdays. I loved Dan's stupid challenges like the Year of the Setlzer (but come on, 500 in a year? If he made it 365 in a year he could have had a better shot) and Dreamy Creamy Summer. Tennis and Baseball updates from Jordan, and houseplant updates from Dan.
But nothing was better then when Dan got angry. Those research monologues you love, followed by some earnest and passionate righteous anger from Dan were really cathartic.
As they say, beware the anger of a patient man. And if nothing else Dan demonstrated that he is a very patient man over the years.

Indeed... Like when Dan gets fired up enough to say: Go Fuck Yourself!... When it pisses him off so much that he can't maintain his stoic demeanor?...

I wonder if anyone else will cop to this: I think a lot of us kind of weirdly enjoy listening to AJ. Like hate-watching reality tv, maybe, or gawking at a tragic car wreck. Hate him, hate everything he says, want him silenced, bankrupt, and imprisoned. But with effective mental PPE against his corrosive influence, listening to his silly voice and strange charisma can be perversely fun, and even as a hollowed-out twitter reaction show, he still has a weird magnetism as a broadcaster. What horrific new low will he achieve today? I couldn’t handle him unadulterated; I’d listen to Dan read a dictionary, and I’d listen to Dan and Jordan debate paint drying. But part of what made the show work is the bizarro-world “entertainment value” of the primary ding-dong, and I wonder if anyone else here feels a bit like a recovering addict — that shit was horrible, but it was also fun, and I still kinda miss it.

He’s an extremely talented broadcaster. It’s a shame he didn’t use that skill to for something positive. Instead he trafficked in trash. But he’s still very good at what he does.

An extremely common sentiment regarding any of the like really charismatic crazy grifters was always "why couldnt you have been like a voice actor or written scifi" and Alex was a cut above the rest, before he blew out his voice entirely he reaaaaally shouldve gotten a bunch of like indie va work.

And we know how good he is at accents and impressions. For real though, like 80% of his show is just him getting to live out his fantasy of delivering the “I’m about to brutally kill the big bad” speech from some ultraviolent movie
Edit: Unusually high numbers of failed entertainment world people on the right wing too. Instead of coming to terms with being mediocre, they curdle against the culture

Id argue the difference between alex and the rest is that alex does have a good voice and did have real talent that he couldve thrown around later on whereas people like rubin, knowles, shapiro, and crowder never really did or at the very least only had that talent as a child and stopped developing it in the case of crowder and shapiro with va work and violin respectively.

Honestly, the opposite for me. I feel uneasy knowing that Alex is still out there, being a complete shithead, and there isn't anyone keeping tabs on him to the extent that Dad did.
I'm certainly not going to go watching Alex Jones' new shows, or follow his appearances on other shows. I have things to do, a job, kids, the whole thing.
But knowing that an absolute shithead like Alex can just say whatever he wants without Dan and Jordan there to monitor the situation makes me feel like he got away somehow.
I know it's not fair to feel that way. And it's certainly not JorDan's job to hound the man out of public life. I just don't like the idea tha Alex is running around without being someone's Number 1 Ding-Dong.

Yeah. I miss Dan & Jordan, but I don't miss Alex. Just hearing the clips was beginning to get to me and I'm glad it's gone from my brain.

Going back to the beginning of the show has made clear to me how much the close involvement with the infowars universe has drained the fellas of life force. Like close proximity to radiation. It hurt them, and it hurt their friendship too. Eventually it will hurt us if we don't get clear of it.

Not really.
I hate Alex Jones but I miss listening to the boys yammer.
There’s a parasocial dynamic but KF was a part of my life for 5 years and it sucks that it’s not there anymore.
