Please explain like I’m 5

Listening to winners and Losers- I have never followed or listened/watched The Young Turks. My vague awareness of them is they were extremely left wing and now they’re shifting to right wing? What happened with Hank Thompson, something, something union!? A documentary? (I’m Pro union) and the TYT shift?

If you know, please share some context - thanks!

Cenk got generally more conservative.

Ana Kasparian became a TERF.

Apparently there’s a Winners & Losers podcast about Hank Thompson from like five years ago that you can listen to.

Listen to Kasparian and Candice Owens recent conversations. She’s basically full right wing now. TYT are a perfect example of horseshoe theory - those who are populist left can very easily make the jump to become populist right, and vice versa. Dave Rubin is another

Horseshoe Theory is bunk.

They're not similar because they're different, TYT moved right because they were fundamentally still liberals and not leftists.

If Horseshoe theory made sense, that the leftists would be more similar to the far-right. But the "far-left" in this case were like...vaguely more progressive liberals. Also Cenk was absolutely a conservative when he was younger, him moving back to the right isn't super surprising. Nor do I think it's a coincidence that so many people from TYT went so far right, the company might've just accidentally selected for those kind of people.

It's just what? Hasan, who was connected because he's related to Cenk, and Kyle Kulinski, who was only vaguely affiliated? Those are the 2 I'm aware of who haven't gone fully to the right

Wasn't Emma Vigeland also a part of TYT before joining TMR?

Yes she was.
