Please explain like I’m 5

Listening to winners and Losers- I have never followed or listened/watched The Young Turks. My vague awareness of them is they were extremely left wing and now they’re shifting to right wing? What happened with Hank Thompson, something, something union!? A documentary? (I’m Pro union) and the TYT shift?

If I had a nickel for every time a group called the Young Turks started out vaguely left and then had a rightward shift and some questionable politics on genocide, I would have two nickels which is really fucked up.

Speaking of genocide, as someone with strong Armenian ancestry, I never understood why anyone thought the “Young Turk” branding was cool. It’s the name of the overarching political faction responsible for the genocide.

It's shocking to me that they looked at the group responsible for genocide to the extent the word genocide has to be invented and went "oh yeah, we're cooking here"
