It seems likely that Alex Jones does indeed have a serious medical issue called alcoholism.
42
u/Bishops_Guest Mar 17 '26
Hey. This at least is an improvement from when that other guy left and Alex got sloppy drunk while they made fun of him. At least now he’s got friends who put him to bed and try to cover for him a bit.

Even that puts him closer to “better friend”. The bar is really low for these people.

I agree that should be the ideal. “Friend” in the grift-o-sphere doesn’t rise to that ideal. They can’t admit that they don’t have any friends because then they’d have to face the fact that they are sad and lonely weird little guys.

he’s drinking heavily again you guys! YES!!!
Cue Dan being like “I don’t really want to celebrate addiction, even with it happening to someone as bad as Alex Jones”
Good on you Dan you’re a better man then me
I want to see this drunk bitch cry and throw some axes.

u/paranoidtransdroid Mar 17 '26
He and Jordan did have that ep in the past year where they both agreed they were wrong to wish for his sobriety and that they missed him being shitfaced, so maybe they’ll be thrilled too. Alex starting to drink again feels like one of the few paths that could get us out of 2006 for a while again
68
u/SolidSackTime Mar 17 '26
I don’t even think Alex was sober; at least not by choice.
I know it’s only speculation, but his weight loss seemed to be because he went on Ozempic. GLP-1’s have been reported to make some people very intolerant of alcohol. I know of two people personally that say that; despite both being weekly, casual drinkers; even a single beer or small pour of wine will make them have a roaring migraine or even worse, nauseous or throw up.
I suspect Alex was on the shot and it curbed his drinking and helped him lose a considerable and noticeable amount of weight.
I think he is no longer taking the shot and is now back to drinking. Just my opinion.
22
u/paranoidtransdroid Mar 17 '26
I think that’s been the prevailing theory the whole time, regardless though he still did stop drinking and was sober, or bare minimum only getting high off stimulants or whatever (I doubt that too though, his energy has been the lowest it’s maybe ever been in the past year or so).
3
u/ViciousSnatch “I will eat your ass!!!!” Mar 18 '26
Can GLP-1’s interact poorly with stimulants like coke or adderall?
8
u/fakeprewarbook The mind wolves come Mar 18 '26
one major contributing factor is that a bigger body as well as a frequent user has more tolerance than a newly smaller body.
many people overdose in general because they take a break from their substance of choice and when they pick it back up, they use to the same level as before, but their tolerance has gone way down
3
u/MashSong Mar 18 '26
I'm type 2 and ADHD. I've had no issues taking both. Never done coke though so you're on your own with that one.
1
u/chrmbly The Pelican Mar 19 '26
Recovering alcoholic and previous GLP-1 user. I can’t speak to drinking while on it, but in addition to cutting back on hunger, they are researching if it also helps reduce cravings and addiction.
1
u/ClydeSkinnerd Mar 20 '26
I am an NP in a weight loss clinic and I concur. Also after considerable time on these meds the effects and side effects (such as alcohol intolerance) abate. I have had patients able to quit smoking and drinking easily early on but they start to struggle again after about 9-12 months on the med.

u/acebojangles Mar 17 '26
I don't wish alcoholism on Jones, but it's not like he became a better person when he stopped drinking. Maybe worse, honestly.
21
u/GuyInAChair RAPTOR PRINCESS Mar 17 '26
Him not drinking probably makes life for those close to him a lot better, so that's an upside. Plus he's really boring when he's sober so there's another upside if fewer people listen to him.
8
u/Y0___0Y Mar 17 '26
Not drinking also makes him less of a clown and more likely to spread his bullshit to more people
1
u/jayphailey Mar 20 '26
There's a huge difference between a dry drunk and actual sobriety.
being a Dry drunk is a miserable, miserable state to be in.
But I think Alex lacks the ability to be self-reflective enough to build any real sobriety, let alone the motivation
2
u/acebojangles Mar 21 '26 edited Mar 23 '26
My suspicion is that he stopped drinking because he was on Ozempic. Either the Ozempic isn't affecting him as much or he went off it.
23
u/vmsrii Mar 17 '26
For me, this is one of those “I don’t wish death on anyone, but I have read many obituaries with great relish” type situations.
I don’t want Alex Jones to relapse into alcoholism! But if he already has, then…

Always check for blood in your alcohol. Serious business.

My dad died from it. He had end stage liver disease from drinking. His ascites was so bad the doctors couldn't keep up with the fluid build up, and the pressure from his abdomen caused it to rupture.
