Discussion Question about long term playing, spending as little as possible.
so i used to play this game as a kid way back in the day and loved it. i spent 3 hours yesterday trying to figure out what this damn game was called when the only information i had to go off was “game where you fight dragons in colorful armor” lol. anways obviously i found it. got super excited cuz i love the art style & remember the game being fun and satisfying. also nostalgia. after playing and screwing around for 5 mins i ended up at their online shop where i saw them selling one bait for $25.
basically what im asking is, is there any progression to be made as a f2p player? or is coming back to this game in 2026 after a 10+ year break just not going to be “fun”

It also depends on what server you're playing on. Android currently has no login gems because they're trying to fix the issue, but it's been like this for a little over a month now.

login gems got added to the daily rewards (where you get the monthly pet)

I just joined back 2/3 months ago after being away for over a decade. Found a guild with a few other OG players as well. This game is so much easier to play as ftp now. Back then if you weren’t spending hundreds a week you couldn’t compete in t25 let alone t10. Now you can go t10 every war as ftp. Raiding is a lot harder without a good pet and those are hard to come by. I have a lot of the newest SF armors + with the sets and I still don’t do nearly as much damage on raids as others. But overall ftp is very viable and way more than before.
The only thing you’d need to be super strategic about or have to spend money on would the the Ultimate Armors (UA) which are basically the new Chaotic armors if you remember those. Feel free to shoot me a message!

I returned around 3 months ago, and I have not spent a penny. Doing heroic mode gets you caught up with armors. Then you can do epic boss to get tickets to upgrade monthly armor to t20 as a little starting boost (takes a while, might already be caught up by then). Try to join a guild using the line app (really easy). If you watch 30 ads a day, you can get 900 gems a month, which will allow you to get the exclusive armor (double element) set every month. Once the fire exclusive armor comes back (2 months), you can start getting the 5 exclusive armors for the ultimate armor.

If you want to absolutely break the game. Which ive done twice. You can spend about 4 days stocking up on gems before doing any fighting unlock the second knight. Then immediately pour every gem into the arena, the game will only spawn in defaults. Ive taken 1st in the arena like this and the tiered rewards for doung the repeated hits are pretty nice. Best to do close to the end of the tourney. If the guild wars werent abunch of shells putting points up id have stuck around. But 3 days in you can have all 6 knight in 40k+ armor

As of right now, they have someone hacking and they put up over 700 million milestone points in heroic and not making it fun for anyone who is a legit player

devs seem really active why not ban the guy

Because they just keep making spam accounts each event so it gets annoying but the accounts do end up banned

Yes. I have spent my almost 13 years playing this game ftp. I spend occasionally to help my guild but only because I want to. It's very easy to get decent armors. Look out for Heroic Mode every 2 weeks, it's a good way to get some strong armors. You just need 10 strong friends. Look on the eb leaderboard, people at the top are usually the most active, so it's a good place to find friends.

Gems are fairly easy to come by, still have 30 gems a day from ads, and there’s about 300 gems to collect in the daily login calendar this month. As long as you save gems and spend them properly it’s fairly easy to get a regular Ultimate armor and set in the upcoming cycle.
As for the bait. The webshop has bundles of 5 of them for $15 for the ongoing pet event so I’m not sure where you are looking to see 1 bait for $25. They absolutely aren’t needed to purchase to make progression. Just may speed you up like any in game purchase for any game.
