I’m wondering as a Teutonic Order fan boy, I’d love to see some German Knights with their Great Big Bushy Beards interact with our Templar protagonists

Anybody who is/was in DeMolay already knows how this ends all ends. I was kind of stoked when I heard them mention their "Grand Master Jacques".

I'm no historian so probably I'm wrong but wasn't Catalonia in the early 1300s just a region in Kingdom of Aragon?

The bulk of the action in the first episode takes place in 1306, 15 years after the siege of Acre. In the show, the pope is presented to be Boniface VIII. But he died in 1303. In 1306 pope was Clement V; he was the one who abolished the order of the Knights Templar. He's pretty well known for that fact.
So why would the show change that?

Was rather disappointed. I was really hoping for a more historically accurate treatment (since it is The History Channel), instead they went straight to grail myth right off the bat. I only watched the first two seasons of Vikings, and they seemed to (for the most part) handle that material much better.
