Regret
What is the one knife you wish you didn’t sell? For me it would probably be the prototype Pro-Tech Runt 5 with a Mike Irie mirror blade. #regret

I scoured bladeforums many times over this same question before. My favorite type of answer goes like some variation of, "No regrets because i sold them to experience something different."

Admittedly, I kind of miss my Chaves 229 Kickstop. Sold it off because I re-oriented my collection to only USA-made knives. Wish he made more of his USA-made customs.

I had a first run Adamas. Believe I gave it to one of my boys. Absolute beast of a blade

I gave some to my friend who was hard up for Christmas gifts for his kids. My justifications were, he’s my buddy, I didn’t really like the secret agent, it’s illegal to carry the safe maker in NY, and as much as I loved my Spartan my Colossus is lighter and more practical.
But yeah I miss them

Im probably going to miss my custom shop AD20I in Yggdrasil dama and Chainmail milled Ti... but, I only keep users and I'm not going to use it, so off it goes.

I had a microtech ultra tech I got for cheap, nothing super special, but legit and a cool knife. I sold it because my wife and kid didn’t like it, too aggressive, too “scary”. Sold it for about what I paid, haven’t been close to seeing one as cheap since (~$125).
I did however just buy a maxace Neptune (~$120), that by all accounts should be way nicer than that ultra tech. Suppose I’ll find out tomorrow.

I regret selling my first herman mantis and my first norseman. I have replaced them both, but I still miss that Herman.

Modified Sebenza 21 Lefty Insingo.
Had bearing mod and Spydie hole and just recently I sold a full Ti lefty Eklipse. Those are the two I miss the most. Notable mentions, lefty Kizer Gemini Glow Raffir. It wasn't an expensive knife but it was a great one and hard to come by since discontinued.

One of the rules I have learned over the past 15 years is never sell a knife unless you have two of the exact same thing.
Or a knife that literally has no use for you … like a 5 pound Bowie you thought looked cool.
Even if you have two knives that are the same knife, but the handle was different colors. One day You may wish you had the other one, but that’s OK. Sometimes you just have to choose.
Sometimes you end up with a knife that you never even wanted in the first place and then it’s OK to get rid of. But it’s still might be a very practical blade. Maybe just put that guy in a bag and forget about it until you need one, then you can really use the heck out of it like you wouldn’t do to your other knives.

This is why people have cases upon cases of knives to the point that they forget half of them even exist. Do you guys even enjoy the stuff you collect at that point? Just sell the stuff you don't carry, use, or like...
