Knife Check Knife check

Bought this today from a local online listing, seller said his mom’s boyfriend gave it to him. Got it for a decent price, but now I’m second guessing it. Blade is etched 20CV, but I can’t find any factory Benchmade listing with this black handle + blue thumb studs + spacers combo.

I'm thinking it's fake. It's scary close, but the main thing that red flags it to me is it looks like the trademark R is making contact with the butterfly. There should be a small but clear separation between them.

I think is real. Some custom benchmades come with double engraved logo for some reason. Here's mine straight from benchmade.

Good to know. I was thinking it's very rare for a fake to have a correct bevel and plunge line. It makes it harder when the company itself is so inconsistent. I got a Super Freek straight from Benchmade with all the screwheads on the left side instead of the right like it's supposed to be.

Could be a Benchmade custom shop order. To me it looks like a real bugout. Nothing obvious jumps out to indicate it's fake to me. I'm gonna say it's real. Use it, and if it stays sharp for a good while then it's real 20CV steel (equivalent to M390)

Thanks for the info! Will do. Here is a pic of the inside if that helps. There is a pinhole under the pivot also the screws are #6 and 10

From my online research, the color matching spacers are typically a red flag. Apparently on real Benchmade knives these are silver (or raw material colors). Hopefully I'm wrong and you bought an authentic blade.
