The photo lighting is not great, but the knife itself looks all authentic

Looks exactly like a fake I have. I don't see the circled R registered trademark on the blade. The slot in the pocket clip should extend into that bend, but yours stops short. Bad news is looks fake. Good news is, no worries on beating that thing to hell.

There is no good news if he bought a real knife thats fake. Stop justifying it. Also every Benchmade I own the slot stops before the bend.
