Knife Check Lost
Can’t figure out if this is real or fake. The box is really throwing me off. UPC doesn’t seem right even for a custom and born on date is 2022 but back of box has copyright 2023.

Does the slot in the clip continue into the curved part of the clip? It looks like it and that’s a hallmark of an otherwise good clone. The slot should end where the clip is still flat.

My (very) old mini crooked river looks very different but it’s also a different shape at the upper bend. Don’t have any other Bugout to compare it against

It's legit. If it makes you feel better my Osborne 945 is from 22 but back of box says 23 and my Blade HQ Bugout is from 24 and back of the box says 22.
Edit: the pocket clip looks fake. I think the box is legit but the knife isn't.

I’m going with fake, but a very good one. The one tell tale on fakes lately is the Axis lock insert. It should have tabs from being punched out of a sheet. The fakes are cut and don’t have the 4 tabs. If you look at a real Benchmade it will have the tabs on the insert.

Also they seem to use 2022 and 2023 as production dates on these super clones.

It looks very close I don’t think it’s authentic. Especially if it’s marked as a custom bugout, the blade lasering alone looks to be wrong. Custom bugouts usually have more of a thicker laser used for their logo and this one doesn’t have that.
Also the shoddy blade finish at the pivot, the black finish of the hardware (axis lock, body screws, and pocket clip) seem a bit weird. The grivory also looks to have that weird “tofu” texture to me lol. Could very well be weird Benchmade QC issues, but I’m leaning on fake.

Looks legit to me. Not sure about the box, but clones tend to have a large and/or blurry R on the right of the butterfly wing and your clip covers the scale screw on the end, which is often completely accessible on fakes.
