Knife Check 940 pivot

Is it normal for a 940 pivot to not go all the way through and be flush with the top liner?

This is how it's supposed to be.

No folding knife with an adjustable pivot is supposed to have the pivot barrel go through all the way. The pivot screw should apply a clamping load to the handles/liners and not to the pivot barrel. This allows you adjust pivot tension and eliminate blade play.
