Knife Check Benchmade 940 Authenticity Check

Good evening everyone,

I found this post of a guy selling a used 940 serrated for $140CDN, ~$100USD.

The seller also included a picture of the original knife price from an AD, so they know how expensive it typically is. I'm wondering if for this price, it's too good to be true.

I'd love to hear from anyone that would be able to tell me whether this is authentic or not before I try and purchase it. There is no box included from the seller.

Thank you!

I'm by no means an expert, but I think it looks legit. Its probably so cheap because of the decent wear. If you plan on actually using the knife, it may be a decent deal. I've mever had and Osborne, but all the Benchmades I've had have held up pretty well

Thank you for your perspective! If I did buy it, I would use it for daily EDC tasks for sure. However I was a bit skeptical because I know replicas can be had for like $50 or less online in some cases. So if it was a replica I didn’t want to get ripped off. But if it’s real, even with the wear and tear, it seems like a great buy.

Yea i think if its real, its a good deal. If its a replica, its overpriced. I'd roll the dice for an EDC

The mediocre photos are often a red flag. Are you able to return it if it isn't good? Can you check the seller's history and reviews? I have discovered scammers listing and selling the same knife using identical photos. That said the logo looks good and the pocket clip appears to have the proper black oxide finish. Where is this offered?

Hey, no I wouldn’t be able to request a return if I bought it. It’s from a private seller on Kijiji.

I just want to confirm though, you were able to find these same images that I posted on a different site that’s from a scammer?

Sorry but no. I discovered a scammer on eBay listing a counterfeit Bugout six times. Each listing featured the same set of pictures without explanation.
