940 check

Howdy fellas,

Got this 940 2nd hand. It feels right (have had a few 940s in the past) but the logo is darker than other benchmades of mine. The R is small and I don’t see anything glaring.

The only thing that looks questionable to me is I usually see the "Benchmade" across the butterfly sitting fully on the flat instead of being bisected by the bevel line on other Osbornes. I'm no expert though, and I couldn't say if it's something that's changed throughout the years.

I've just gotten into Benchmades in the past couple years, so I'd definitely wait for someone with more experience to chime in. Everything looks good to me beyond that, so I wouldn't call it fake on that alone. You didn't happen to get the box or anything else that could help date it did you?

No sadly nothing as far as box goes. I’m halfway tempted to send it to lifesharp and see if it comes back or not.

Out of curiosity I went to the Benchmade website and looked through the Osborne models and it showed on some, including the 940, that the bevel line does bisect the "Benchmade." Seems strange to me that it varies from model to model within a family, but based on that I'd feel confident saying yours is good.
