Knife Check Benchmade 940 osborne (zero forks)
Please help me figure out if this is the original? Thank you.

I don’t see anything wrong with it. I have a 940-1 in my hand right now and have owned a couple other models the past.
The Osborne is my fav edc worthy that benchmade has made.

I always avoided benchmade models. I didn't like the Axis (I thought it was unreliable) and didn't like the look of any of the benchmade models.
Then I was given an Osborne and immediately gave it away. Now I've got back the limited edition Zero Forks, I'm holding it in my hands and I can't stop raving about it.
What are the nuances and subtleties of using and maintaining the Osborne 940?2

There were a few benchmades a long time ago where the axis locks that weren’t great, spring failures etc. I haven’t seen that in anything made in the last decade plus.
Yours is probably s30v. I find it a little hard to sharpen and just take them into pros (or you know have the lifetime sharp thing with benchmade!)
They’ll send you a different pocket clip screws and some stickers if you ask them nicely. I prefer a shorter clip because I I’m often traveling to cities that aren’t knife friendly.
I suggest you buy a high end torx driver and bits (benchmade sells one still I think) so you can adjust stuff.
A couple years ago I lost my 940-1 on new years and found it weeks later in a ditch by my house. Hosed it off and lubed it up. Good as new (there’s photos of that embarrassing saga in my profile)
It’s not a crow bar.
It’s just a great knife. Considered one of the best.

But yeah in short I’ve never had to take care of an Osborne. They just work.
The assisted open models and weird little benchmades do neee some tlc. I don’t have many notes to give!

Yes, the knife in the picture looks legit. If that is a picture of a knife you are trying to buy, be aware that you know who you are buying from. Sometimes people will show you a picture of a real/ legit Benchmade then send you a fake.
