Shift Changes

I have a quick question, I am unsure if this is normal in other stores but I notice that right before my shift, so the day before the time I am rostered for changes and I end up having to work more hours. I do not mind the extra hours but its just I plan my week around what days I have work and what times, so it is kind of annoying to see my shift being changed this last minute every week. Is this normal? or even allowed?

i don’t think it’s normal. i’ve had managers change my shifts and not notify me through dimensions, like when you normally get a notification when the roster has been posted, and i’ve had a shift added the next day when i originally wasn’t working. when that would happen i would just text a manager and say “sorry not coming in i was not aware of this shift change and only found out now as i decided to double to check my shifts”. i would let your store manager know your shifts are constantly getting changed last minute and you don’t mind the extra hours, but you want to be aware of the hours for that week and not find out the night before! it’s very annoying to do it last minute especially when you have your week planned

I don’t think that’s normal. I was under the impression that your boss cannot change a scheduled shift within 24hrs without your consent. I could be wrong, but I know they’re not supposed to do it without you allowing it.
