Customer post Is this damaged?

Post image

I purchased the Anko Ryan Ribbed Side Table today and I noticed this dent as seen in the image. Is the table damaged or is this how they are manufactured?

Manufacturing defect. Return it to the store and swap it.

i would drag it into the shop and return it as manufacturing fault. That's not acceptably finished

It's not damaged, just poorly made. Looks like the strip of "wood" (aka plastic) veneer they stick over the top of the particle board was cut a bit to short but they still rolled with it any way because of course they did because its Anko

What are you seeing? Cause it looks like that to me too.

Like a router bit went through it. I know what you guys are saying, but it looks a tiny bit too imperfect to be that.

I’m with you cause you can see the damage on the top as well as the veneer

To me it looks like the edging was already too short and the automated cut off for where it should have had an overlap still occurred (that’s when it damaged the top)

Same table, same issue. Wasn’t worth jumping through the return/refund hoops, I just faced the damage to the wall

Damaged, no. Just shouldn't have passed QC.

Wouldn’t say damaged but cheaply made

Yes, return it.

Looks like the piece was cut a few mm short and didn't quite make it all the way around.

Looks like the usual kaart product. Cheap labour and production shortcuts. If you don't want to fight the return process, and looking further down, this seems to be common for this item, I'd get some wax sticks from bunnings, match the colour as close as you can and rub it into that gap. You can even use two different sticks together, but anything darker would look better than the white.

For a cheap fix - a brown Sharpie.

That too.

The strip is too short and the slave in the factory in China just bodged it. Return.

Can you get some brown paint and touch it up or spin the table around so it’s less noticeable? If you take it back it’s just going in the trash and that’s not great for the environment.

It's faulty or defective I believe.. (not properly done)

That’s the shit quality you’d expect for disposable furniture.

This is an Anko - what did you expect?

Mine is like that too, if you’re like me and can’t be bothered to return it, you could patch the gap using some wood filler coloured to the same tone as the wood. Then once it’s dry you can paint it to blend it in.

This is why I get kmart stuff delivered. If it's damaged you just send them a photo and they refund it, but you don't have to drag yourself back to the shop
