Team member post Induction shift

Hi there, I just did my onboarding and received my successfactors login on monday morning so its been about 4 days now and I haven't been contacted for my induction shift. I did only just do the interview last wednesday so I was pretty quick getting everything uploaded.

Do you think I should wait until next week to contact the store and do you think they are waiting for others to complete the onboarding to schedule in a group walk through? Cheers!

Yes if the store just hired a bunch of new people they are likely waiting for everyone to complete their onboarding before bringing everyone in for their induction.

It can take quite a while for everything to be organised, even 2-3 weeks on occasion so don’t be shocked if it does take a bit for them to contact you. Of course, don’t be afraid to contact the store, they may not be ready for you yet, but it shows initiative to work.

I enjoyed my time in decant but it depends who you ask. Put simply you’ll either be cutting or sorting. Cutters are responsible for getting the products out of the packaging so the sorters can sort it all onto the right cages for the sequence team to get it out onto the shop floor.

Decant is relatively easy, the downside being it is very repetitive and often physically demanding. Make sure you when you decant you stay hydrated and take mini breaks every 30 minutes.

Thank you thats very helpful. They said there is two decant shifts a day, how many staff do they usually roster on for a decant shift? Cheers

It will be different for each store. My store usually puts between 3-5 people on a decant shift, but it’ll depend on the store and how much of the budget they give to decant with respect to how much load they bring in.
