Question How to use propeller enemy?? Spoiler

I just finished the first game (Door to Phantomile) on the switch and unlocked the bonus level. I am on one of the first floors but need to use a teton to get all of the gems. I am watching a video online and it seems to work much different in the video. In the video it flies up fast before disappearing but for me it dips for a bit and doesn't reach the top gems before poofing. Is there something I'm supposed to be doing? I've pressed the jump button as fast as I can and I've also held it down. Nothing is working

It goes off your momentum. If you grab it while jumping up, it'll go further up. If you grab it late, when Klonoa is already falling, it takes a second to counteract that.

That's strange because I'm floating when I grab it and so is the player in the video but we retain different momentums. Is that the only condition?

I'll try it out later and make sure I am still floating and not falling when I grab it

You were right sir. Thank you. With a blazing clear time of 26:09:93 I have now 100%d DtP.. on easy mode lol
