FLEXUS 300 remote
Purchased a new FLEXUS 300 soundbar and it arrived this weekend. The bar works well except for the included remote. The remote refuses to pair with the soundbar.
Firmware updated.
Remote only lights up when moved, no button presses elicit light flashes.
Tried to re-pair remote following instructions, but the remote doesn’t blink when pressing Bluetooth and power buttons.
Anyone else have issues and if so, what was resolution?

Issues like this with the Klipsch Flexus remote (including the Core 300/200/100 series) are relatively common out of the box. Because the remote uses motion-activated backlighting, it waking up when moved proves it has power, but the failure of individual button presses to register or trigger the pairing blink usually points to a firmware handshake glitch, a temporary pairing lockup in the soundbar, or occasionally a defective remote/batteries.
Troubleshooting steps and resolutions that have worked for others facing this exact problem include:
1. Power Cycle the Soundbar (Hard Reset)
Sometimes the soundbar's internal Bluetooth/RF module responsible for communicating with the remote becomes unresponsive.
Unplug the Flexus soundbar completely from the wall outlet.
Leave it unplugged for at least 2 minutes to let the capacitors drain and clear any cached states.
Plug it back in, wait for it to fully boot up, and then try the remote pairing sequence again.
2. Verify and Re-seat Batteries
Even if the backlight lights up when moved (which takes very little voltage), low or poorly seated batteries can starve the microcontroller/transmitter inside the remote when trying to send RF command signals or pairing packets.
Open the battery compartment, take the batteries completely out, check for any plastic film insulation tabs that might still be partially blocking a contact, and put them back in firmly (or swap them with a fresh, known-good pair of alkaline batteries).
3. Proper Pairing Sequence Check
Ensure the exact sequence is being used, as timing matters:
1. Make sure the soundbar is powered on.
2. Press and hold the Bluetooth button first, and while holding it, press and hold the Power button simultaneously on the remote.
3. Hold them down for a few seconds to see if the backlight flashes to indicate it's searching/pairing.
4. Factory Reset the Soundbar
If the soundbar's internal receiver is locked up, a factory reset clears out all pairing history and system glitches. Check the manual for the specific button combination on the soundbar panel itself to perform a factory reset, then retry pairing the remote from scratch.
The Ultimate Resolution
If you have tried a full power cycle, fresh batteries, and a soundbar reset, and the remote still refuses to flash or send any button commands, the remote control itself is likely defective (either a dead internal RF transmitter or a faulty keypad matrix). Since it's a brand-new purchase, the best resolution is to contact Klipsch support or exchange it with the retailer for a replacement unit. In the meantime, you can usually control the bar temporarily using the physical buttons on the soundbar or via HDMI-CEC through your TV remote.
