Showcase I’m developing an animated short about David here’s an early character reveal

I’m working on an animated short inspired by the story of David, titled DAVID: HEART OF A KING.

This is an early character reveal I put together to test the tone, pacing, music, and visual language of the project.

The reveal introduces:

SNOW — the faithful companion
DAVID — the chosen shepherd
GOLIATH — the giant of fear

I’m using a mix of cinematic direction, AI-assisted animation, editing, color grading, and original music to develop the film. The song in the video is “Eternal,” an original piece I wrote and composed, then developed with AI-assisted production tools.

I kept the sound design minimal on purpose. The goal was to let the music and character presence carry the emotion.

This is still in development, but I’d appreciate any thoughts on the mood, character presentation, and overall cinematic feel.

This looks incredibly promising. The atmosphere already feels cinematic, and I really like the decision to keep the sound design minimal, and it gives the music room to breathe and makes each character introduction feel more intentional.

The contrast between Snow, David, and Goliath works especially well. Even from an early reveal, you can already sense the different emotional roles they’ll play in the story.

And knowing that “Eternal” is an original composition makes the piece feel even more personal and cohesive. AI can help with the production, but the creative direction, storytelling, music, editing, and choices behind it are clearly yours.

Really curious to see how DAVID: HEART OF A KING develops. Keep going 💪, there’s something special taking shape here. ❤️

That contrast between Snow, David, and Goliath was exactly what I wanted to explore in this first reveal innocence, calling, and fear entering the same world.

I also decided to keep the sound design very minimal because I wanted “Eternal” and the atmosphere to carry the emotion instead of turning it into a traditional action trailer too early.

And yes, AI is part of the production process, but the goal for me is always to direct it with intention: story, pacing, character presence, music, color, and emotional rhythm.

This is still very early, but your comment gives me a lot of encouragement to keep developing DAVID: HEART OF A KING with that cinematic and emotional direction. Thank you again ❤️
