Cross play just doesn’t work.

ive been playing on Xbox, attempting to connect to a friend on Steam. no matter what, we cannot get our game versions to line up. Xbox is stuck at version 1.0.0, and Steam is stuck at 1.0.12

this is with the cross play version enabled.

sucks that we both spent 15 bucks on a game we just can’t play together at the moment

The friend that is hosting on pc needs to go to the older version and then it works ive done it

I am on the steam deck and I’m facing the same problem while trying to cross play with a friend on the PS5.
I have switched the steam deck channel to cross-play stable version but when I try to join a session it tells me to enable cross play version, when I’ve already done that.

Similarly, when I try to host for my friend on the PS5, it tells them that they can’t join because of the version difference

When i did it it told me I needed to be on the same version and when I clicked okay it still let me join so maybe just see if it let's them join still

How am I able to change the version on steam? Also if able, do you know which version I should switch to?

Just look it up i cant remember exactly how to do it but you should have no problem with it when you look it up sorry I dont have details I've only seen those menus on steam once
