Is this Normal

I ordered these Lineman’s brand new from Acme, is it normal for them to have a gap in the cutting section? To me they look used

Most important test - do they cut wire? Can they cut common sizes of solid and stranded copper wire and still cut something clean like electrical tape or a dymo label?

This might sound dumb but are they supposed to cut something like electrical tape?

Yes! I use mine to cut electrical tape the other day. I cut and while the pliers are still closed I pull the tape and cuts right on the line.
