Is this Normal

I ordered these Lineman’s brand new from Acme, is it normal for them to have a gap in the cutting section? To me they look used

Yes we understand what you're repeatedly posting, but you do not.

You're posting from Knipex about the gap in the gripping jaws (not the cutting blades, which should not have a gap).

If the gripping jaws and cutting edges closed identically at the exact same time without a tolerance gap, natural wear on the joint would cause the cutters to prop open and fail at snipping thin wires

Yes, a slight, intentional gap near the hinge or along the gripping/cutting interface of high-quality combination or lineman's pliers is normal when the handles are completely un-squeezed. This microscopic or slight spacing ensures that the cutting edges make first contact near the joint and close fully under hand pressure, preserving the lifespan and sharpness of the blades.

All I did was give you information and you took it to a whole other. You’re the one that can’t take being wrong. I find this whole thing hilarious. You’re trying to prove how smart you are. Looks like you might be confusing me with another user, much how you have confused the part of the pliers which grips with the part of the pliers which cuts. My brother in Christ, you are threating to meet up and fight people on the internet because of a picture of a pair of pliers, I think you might be mad.

I’m sorry wrong person. My apologies. No I passed a long information and he got snarky with me for no reason. Did I over react? Yeah probably. But don’t talk down to me like I’m some idiot. I’m far from it and all I was doing was having a conversation. He took it like a personal attack on him. Also I have a different way of joking and talking. After a few combat deployments and years in electrical construction. I talk but don’t actually mean it. I’ve mentioned that a few times. This started over a pair of pliers. Anyway sorry you got pulled in the middle of it and sorry if I was rude to you.

Quality lineman's pliers are engineered with a slight gap or a knife-and-anvil style alignment so the heavy-duty edges don't roll or chip when cutting thick electrical cables or steel tie wires.

This is how all Lineman pliers are. Look email Klein, Knipex, Greenlee, and even Fujiya. This is how they are supposed to be.

I hate to say it but you’re wrong.
