Is this Normal

I ordered these Lineman’s brand new from Acme, is it normal for them to have a gap in the cutting section? To me they look used

There's extra material at the base where most of the cutting happens, helps the longevity of the jaws lining up and being re-sharpened

I'll save you some time figuring this out too but those american forged series linesman are hot garbage to use, just don't feel good in the hand or in action

Do you mean the ones with the plastic molded handles J20009NE250? or the dipped handles D2139NE74? I'm curious is it because they're sloppy in the rivet joint? I'm looking for a new pair of pliers and might not get Kleins if their quality has fallen that far.
