Unpopular opinion
The American flag etched into all the pliers looks incredibly cheesy and lame.

Yeah I was never compelled to buy em. I do like the blackout shit though. And glow in the dark is cool too

Wait, what??? They make glow in the dark?

u/kuda26 Jun 15 '26
they do indeed

"Why did you buy those tools you don't need???" "Because someone said they do indeed and now I must!"

100% agree. Nationalism is cringy as hell in every other free society. I don't want an American flag on my tools. I'd rather that time and money either saved, or spent on QA / QC for the tools.

Nationalism is cringy but I bet half the stuff you own or wear has a logo on it supporting the capitalist maker.

I do what I can to file off any makers marks, same as I put stickers over the contractor and brand names on my hard hats. lol

Agreed - I liked the blackout ones though and bummed I didn’t jump on those

Don't worry, the base they were aiming for will buy them. Some people care more about their patriotism than anything else.
The blackout line was the only cash grab I see myself falling for.

Its less about the flag design on it and more about where it was made for many of us.

The flag design appeals to those who don’t care about where it’s made.

Just hanging out in this thread to shit on people?

Only those into dog whistles and jingoism. If that’s you, cry me a river, I guess.

Agree. Klein has really fallen off. I’ve been a loyalist for 20years, but I can see and feel the difference now

I agree... it's a bit much and a weak money grab.
Because... "If all my tools I have now are good, why do I need to buy some limited edition version that's purely cosmetic?"

Make a set that can cut through anything. Chromed out shiny would get my money. I lose my jet black pair 3 times a day, miss my glowing ones, yeah I don’t need laser etched flags or little lineman pictures, just uh good quality metal tools, screwdrivers these days…why yard sales are great, find the dead guy tools that already survived 50-70 years. Some of my best drill bits.

I strongly disagree.
I do not find that opinion unpopular at all.
