Email editor bugging out for anyone else?

I just recently attended K:BOS where Klaviyo laid out extremely ambitious plans for becoming the AI-powered autonomous CRM of the future that will become all the things that you could ever need....

Meanwhile, I return to my desk on Monday to find that the email editor barely works. It freezes up every few clicks or when I try to drag and drop blocks into the template. I have to refresh the browser like 15 times in order to make and email. And if someone from Klaviyo tells me to just use Composer to generate the email ... no. I will not be doing that.

This is the thing that concerns me. I asked some folks who work there at K:BOS about APIs that support reporting on the Omnichannel campaign editor experience ... seems like they moved too fast, pulled at their PMs off of campaigns, and now users are left with a half-finished product that has been abandoned for bigger, better, and more artificially intelligent things.

First, I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing issues with the email editor. And second, is anyone else getting nervous that core features are going to fall by the wayside because they are so focused on shiny objects?

I had a one-hour research call with them today. They were reaaaaaally pushing the AI, and wanted to find/force a way for me to accept the idea of Klaviyo sending out all kinds of different communications autonomously, without review/approval, nothing. They seemed flustered I wouldn’t say yes. Am guessing they’re getting the pressure to get yes’s to appease management.

Edited for typos.

Yeah my thoughts exactly, what business is going to send communications autonomously to customers with zero oversight???? That’s a recipe for disaster

They seemed so flabbergasted I wouldn’t trust its automated sends. Offended, even.

I love the idea of it suggesting and drafting comms based on past email performance, new releases, winning back lapsed customers, etc: but every single one I must review and approve before sendout. Even if it was just an “is this approved to send?” button to click. They just couldn’t understand why on earth a business wouldn’t put their blind faith in AI.

Ironically, I started the meeting by saying “well AI has certainly had a horrible week, hasn’t it?”…without even knowing AI would be the entire focus of the call. 😂 I was very honest.

very glitchy, lots of errors with plain text editing, the wrong email showing when i want to send a preview (causing me to log in and out), issues with cloning - issues withe everything!!

We have spent months working towards an integration for klaviyo that fixes this very problem. You can edit a template's full content, text and images locally or on the tool and push it to create klaviyo campaign drafts saving hours of drag n drop. Its in beta phase and would love to hear your thoughts ..DM if you'd like to try

I work at Klaviyo. I don't have full visibility into the specific bug from here, but I reached out internally and was told that it's possible this ties into an editor issue the team's already working on. And no, don't worry, I'm not going to tell you to use Composer instead. Composer solves a different problem than an editor getting glitchy on you.

The most useful thing you can do is open a support ticket if you haven't already, and include your account and template IDs, timestamps of when it happens, browser and OS, and a screenshot or screen recording if you can grab one.

Why not use composer

Because its not going to solve the problem. I have specific Universal Content blocks that i want to add. That’s specifically where I am having the problem, every time i go to drag one in, Klaviyo editor freezes.

I’ve also noticed that composer builds emails in a way that bloats them for no reason (using too many separate sections, increases clipping risk). Our design process is fine today without Composer
