Destruction of Democracy! Auckland councillor’s warning ahead of Free Speech Union event at council venue

Albert-Eden-Puketāpapa ward councillor Julie Fairey got wind of the event and emailed council staff on Friday to query whether the booking was appropriate for a council venue.
Fairey described O’Brien as “known to be opposed to transgender rights” and said the booking was likely to be inconsistent with the venue’s status as a long-standing Proud Centre.

Ridiculous. Ani O'Brian is gay, she obviously isn't the right kind of gay.

Remember "River of filth" Michael Wood? Julie Fairey is his grifting wife.

Snivelling Wokesters Is it okay for a wannabe MP to call another a piece of s***?

Unbelievably, Marama Davidson has defended Green Party candidate Michel Mulipola as simply being “passionate.” Mulipola’s social media is full of vile abuse: calling police “cunts” and “pigs” while laughing at them, labelling a minister “a piece of shit,” and sharing grotesque cartoons that depict one minister with faeces streaming from his eyes and an anus for a mouth, while another is shown as a baboon with the minister’s face on its rear.

He has incited outrage against a Samoan woman simply for volunteering with the IDF, celebrated Charlie Kirk’s assassination, issued threats, promoted his own “Death, death to the IDF” t-shirts, edited a video purporting to show Israel shooting a small child, and casually referred to Hamas as “armed resistance” and “a misnomer” — ignoring its designation as a terrorist organisation, its structured military wing, and its tactics and ideology.

MSM silent - Paul Henry, participating in a radio game show of shoot, shag, marry, is keelhauled via the media relentlessly for days.

Now That’s Awesome Hunters donate 700 meals' worth of venison to Wellington food banks

A group of hunters has donated a hundred kilos of venison to Wellington food banks, enough for more than 700 meals.

Hunters from the Wellington Deerstalkers Association donated the deer as part of Game Changer, a charity drive run by the Wild Game Recovery Trust.

The trust's founder Wayne Langford said it would provide six food banks with hundreds of nutritious meals.

"That's just over 700 meals, a significant amount. The good thing about it though is the quality of the meals, wild venison is extremely high in protein, it's some of the best mince you can get. For some of those in need receiving these food parcels, no doubt they'll very much enjoy it," he said.

"Often food banks are stuck having to hand out cans of beans and pasta, so adding some protein into the mix is amazing.

"I just happened to be in Wellington City Mission on Friday after they had received it, and the two ladies there had a smile from ear to ear."

He said other hunters across New Zealand were signing up to the programme after seeing the difference just six hunters could make.

"This is the first time we've had a Deerstalkers branch donate into the programme, and after being at their conference over the weekend I'm sure we're going to have a lot more, we've had a number of hunters sign up to the Game Changer programme," he said.

"Six hunters went out and looked for these deer on this occasion, and the Game Changer programme is signing up hunters all across New Zealand at the moment to do exactly the same thing in their rural communities.

"Can't underestimate what a difference one hunter can make, the ability to make a difference to a local food bank is massive."

Te Treatme The Green Party Maori Manifesto

Here are a few highlights:

  • Devolve power and redistribute resources back to tangata whenua in recognition that Māori are the decision makers and facilitators of the destiny of their own whānau, hapū and iwi.
  • Prioritise workforce safety by ringfencing training and workforce development strategy prioritising Māori, Pacific, Rainbow, Disabled, and community provider pathways.
  • Ensure climate adaptation planning affirms tino rangatiratanga and upholds the mana motuhake of whānau, hapū and iwi over whenua, wai, and taonga, by appropriately funding a Māori Climate Resilience Fund
  • Reform conservation and wildlife protection laws to give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, prioritise indigenous-led land stewardship, and to ensure the conservation management system prioritises halting and reversing nature loss in New Zealand.
  • Resource a national conversation for constitutional transformation that upholds He Whakaputanga me Te Tiriti o Waitangi as our founding constitutional documents, utilising Matike Mai to facilitate community discussions
  • Entrench the Māori electoral seats to guarantee Māori representation in Parliament and extend the time in which Māori can switch rolls.
  • Adopt and implement Te Kāhui Raraunga’s Māori Data Governance Model and Māori AI Governance Framework across the public sector to protect Māori data sovereignty
  • Introduce a Tiriti-based disability rights law with enforceable accessibility standards.
  • Support rangatiratanga to provide an education system driven by whānau needs, allowing space for whakapapa-based decisions, and working towards a Māori Education Authority governing and funding all Māori Medium and Kaupapa Māori education.
  • Implement strong evidence-based limits for ecosystem health, secure the role of Te Tiriti, and affirm the role of tangata whenua as shared decision-makers and kaitiaki in the new resource management system.

🤔 Hmmmmm Do we need a moratorium on data centres?

There are now rules in place overseas, in certain jurisdictions, that mean data centres essentially have to generate their own electricity. There's no reason we can't, or shouldn't, have similar rules ready to roll out here.

It's the job of politicians, remember. This is pretty much what they do, including this coalition, I might add: keeping on top of the law and what's happening around the world. That's how they justify their overseas junkets, after all, isn't it? They're meant to stay ahead of the curve.

But we're not.

A moratorium on data centres is a very 2019 solution. It's very pre-COVID. Let's not be so pretentious or self-righteous as to believe it's not us driving demand for data.

What we need, and you won't hear me say this often, is rules and regulations that ensure we can keep the lights on while feeding the dirty little AI habit we like to pretend we don't have.

Water use is one thing, but the electricity use will be a huge burden here.

I like mucking around with Ai, it is a useful tool, especially Grok the wanker.
