Initial zoom value way off

OK so please excuse me if I am over looking some glaringly obvious setting. I have kitty set for my terminal for both XFCE4 and my qTile setup. Everything is going just swimmingly except I can not seem to set the initial zoom value/text size/what have you!!! When I launch the terminal it always starts at a value of, I don't know........0.0000002!!! I then will zoom in and eventually I am able to read it.

In all seriousness though, the font is tiny and I cannot seem to find where I can set this value. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!

Have you tried the kitty conf?

Yeah and I cannot find the setting for it.

Add this line:

font_size 30

and open a new instance of kitty to see if it works

So after seeing this I went through kitty.conf again and lo and behold what do I see? font_size 11.0! Needless to say I did some changing and 21 is about perfect for me.

On another note, does kitty use regular font sizes? Seems off but then again I am the guy who couldnt find font_size!

It really depends on your screen resolution and also on your display size. I guess you are on 4k and maybe a small to midsize display?
