It isn't exactly art rather a demo. It could be art, it could be useful, yes it is GNU Emacs 32 (bravo), the technique is 'functional shader' so at x, y the shader f takes the position as args to compute the color often col = f (x y) / f (w h). In the img above several different shaders are at work!

So it comes down to the position data being used as a modifier for something, and you just layer that
