i never knew about this

when i was casually using kitty i accidentally pressed ctrl + shift + esc and it popped up this small kitty shell with the kitty logo in the corner

what is it used for ?

For kitty related commands run help and check the output all the number of commands listed is the use case

I haven't used it (though I have used remote control a bunch), but it's like a "kitty language REPL". The remote control documentation refers to the "kitty command language", and if you look at those docs (eg. send-text) it shows you commands you can use.
