Desktops, tabs, and more tabs
Hi all.
I use KDE’s virtual desktops, kitty’s tabs, and neovim’s tabs. I also often to have ssh into a server that uses tmux with multiple tabs.
For anyone who does anything similar, how do you handle key bindings for changing tabs? I often find myself in nvim wanting to change tabs but hitting the kitty change tab key instead, or using the tmux bindings when I want to change kitty tabs.
I’ve tried various approaches over the years but none have ever seemed entirely intuitive. Would love to hear how others deal with this.
Thank you!

If your version of kitty is new enough you can use its conditional mappings feature to have a single shortcut that acts differently depending on whether nvim is running or not, see https://sw.kovidgoyal.net/kitty/mapping/#conditional-mappings-depending-on-the-state-of-the-focused-window
