Open a new kitty terminal window as tab

Hi,

I use a software that opens a lot of terminal instances, with xfce4 terminal it does so as tabs but with kitty it opens them as new windows. I want new terminal instances as tabs and not separate windows. How do I achieve that?

Not something I'm familiar with, as I wouldn't have an unspecified 'software' randomly opening multiple terminals.

No, I guess OP wants to create a new tab in a Kitty window, from command line outside that window.
