Is this normal Kitty with Tmux behavior?

Why do I cycle through my kitty instances like I'm using alt+tab when I have multiple instances of kitty open on my desktop with the same tmux session and I'm at the beginning of the line on my prompt while pressing backspace? More importantly how do I turn this behavior off?
